A few weeks ago, I received an invitation from a woman named Jessica (by e-mail) to participate in the launching of a new line of products, “Green Garden Dressings” manufactured by Litehouse Foods. We were to meet at Restaurant l’Orignal (in Old Montreal) where we would have the opportunity to taste these salad dressings. The dressings are olive oil based, with natural ingredients, organic, gluten-free and non-GMO (you know Genetically Modified Organisms). It sounded too good to be true.
So, I immediately opened up another window on my laptop to find out a little more about Litehouse Foods. I thought the name was familiar but I couldn’t put my finger on it. Once their webpage appeared, I immediately recognized the logo. I started reading about the origins and the values of this company and right there and then, I had the feeling that this was going to be a special evening. I was so excited to taste these dressings and I felt extremely privileged to have received an invitation. There was only one thing left to do. I wrote back to confirm my presence.
An Evening With Litehouse Foods:
The location of the Restaurant l’Orignal in Old Montreal was just perfect. Traffic was light that evening, so I had plenty of time to enjoy a leisurely walk. I never get tired of admiring the old architecture and cobblestone streets of Old Montreal. Truly timeless. I met up with my friend, Pina, who I had invited to tag along with me, and we headed toward the restaurant.
From the minute we walked in the restaurant, we were treated like VIPs. We were immediately introduced to the Litehouse “family” and engaged in conversations that lasted 4 hours. The evening just flew by!
I learned that that the team was in Montreal to participate in the Canadian Produce Marketing Association Annual Convention and Trade Show and to launch their new line of Green Garden Dressings. As part of their promotional event, four Montreal bloggers were invited to participate in the tasting of these salad dressings. There was Jenny, from yoga mini mantra, Hilary, from Cocoa Bean, The Vegetable, one other blogger whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch… and of course… yours truly! Someone pinch me now!
We were invited to sit down in order to start the tasting portion of the evening. Alison, the brand manager at Litehouse, said a few words about the Green Garden Dressings and we were encouraged to taste the different dressings with the very colorful salads prepared for us. Pomegranate Hibiscus, Sweet Onion, Lime Cumin, Orange Miso and Balsamic Herb; those are the names of the Green Garden Dressings. Have you started salivating? Wait until you try them! They were absolutely great! My personal favourite was the Balsamic Herb. The flavor was not unique, but I loved its simplicity. I was able to taste the freshness and the quality of the ingredients.
I experienced an evening of great food, and even better conversation with some bloggers, some non-bloggers and the Litehouse “family”. It was truly a privilege to experience the passion, conviction, pride, integrity and dedication that I felt from spending just a few hours with some truly inspiring individuals.
Thank-you Alison, Charity, Curtis, Daren, Maria, and Morgan for a wonderful evening and introducing me to a wonderful product line. Thank-you Jessica for the invitation and making it all possible. I need to go shopping for some Green Garden Dressings!
Thanks for dropping by.
Ciao for now!
