Ingredients: - hazelnuts - salt (optional)

OVEN Method: Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C). Spread the hazelnuts in a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet. Roast for about 12-15 minutes, or until fragrant.

SKILLET Method: Place a large, dry skillet over medium heat. Once the pan is hot, add the hazelnuts. Swirl the pan continuously so that they toast evenly for 5-7 minutes.

Wrap the warm hazelnuts in a clean tea towel for 5-10 minutes. Then, use the towel to rub them together. This creates friction which causes them to lose their skins.
