Sweet Bread  Recipe

Looking for a sweet bread recipe that's lightly sweetened and easy to make?

Try this sweet dough recipe! It's light and fluffy which makes these rolls perfect alongside morning coffee or tea. 

Here's what you need:

-flour -sugar -yeast -water -buttermilk  -egg  -oil -extracts -lemon zest

How to Make  Sweet Bread (Braided)

Whisk together the buttermilk, egg, oil, extracts and the lemon zest. Set aside.


Whisk together the flour and sugar. Form a well.


Add the liquid mixture to the well and combine. Add the yeast.


Knead together to form a ball of dough. Cover bowl. Allow to rise until double in size.


Roll out dough until you get a 16x12-inch rectangle. Cut the dough into strips.


Pinch the top ends of 3 strips of dough together. Then start braiding the dough.


Bake at 350° F (180°C) for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.
