Notes
1 serving = ½ cup2 cups of strawberries is the equivalent of 1 pint or ¾ pound.
Whisk the marinade separately in a bowl. Do not be tempted to drizzle the individual ingredients for the marinade over the berries. Take a few seconds to whisk the marinade properly together and then add it to the berries. This will create an emulsion that covers the entire surface of the strawberries.
Allow the strawberries to marinate for at least 30 minutes. A little patience is required but you will be rewarded with great-tasting strawberries.
Can I marinate the strawberries overnight in the fridge? Yes, this is an option. The texture of the strawberries will be very soft making it a perfect topping for a variety of foods. Can I make an alcoholic version? Yes. Simply replace the lemon juice with your choice of alcohol. Please keep in mind that the nutritional information provided below is just a rough estimate and variations can occur depending on the specific ingredients used.
