Try something new with this flavorful recipe for Star Bread. It's filled with a unique chocolate chestnut filling that is so impressive! 

Here's what you need for the sweet dough:

-AP flour -yeast -milk  -mashed potatoes -butter -sugar -salt -eggs -orange zest

Here's what you need for the chestnut filling:

-pureed chestnuts -espresso -honey -evaporated milk -rum -cocoa powder -butter -vanilla extract -cinnamon -orange zest -salt -dark chocolate

How to Make  Star Bread with Chestnut Filling

Combine the ingredients to make the yeast dough.


Divide the dough into 3 equal balls. Allow to rise for 45 minutes. While waiting make the chestnut filling.


Roll out one dough ball.


Spread the chocolate chestnut filling over the entire surface of the dough. Repeat one more time.


Cut into 16 equal strips of dough.


With your fingers, pick up two side by side strips of dough. Gently make two complete twists away from each other.


Press the ends together. Continue until you have formed 8 points. Allow to double in size.


Bake at 375° F (190°C) for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
