You only need one tablespoon of olive oil to make the best Air Fryer Potatoes. This healthy side dish is ready in just 30 minutes, without any parboiling. Perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

It’s unbelievable, but it’s true!

Only one tablespoon of olive oil to make healthy roasted potatoes that taste amazing!

If you like creamer potatoes that are soft and tender in the middle with a crispy texture, these are for you.

The truth is that I love air fryer recipes. Whether I am making these Italian cookies, zucchini sticks or cauliflower -the results are simply amazing!

If you are looking for an alternative to deep-frying, air frying is a great choice.

To make these air fryer roasted potatoes, simply slice and season. Then, place the baby potatoes on the air fryer basket without overcrowding and turn on the heat. Shake the potatoes at the halfway mark and continue to cook until golden brown. With just 5 minutes of prep work, you will get delicious results.

Instructions

Rinse and dry the potatoes. Then, slice them in half lengthwise in order to obtain a larger surface area that can be roasted. Place them in a large mixing bowl.

Ingredients to make the air fryer creamer potatoes are in bowls.

Add 1 teaspoon of dried rosemary, ½ teaspoon dried oregano, ½ teaspoon paprika (or cajun), ¼ teaspoon salt,  ⅛ teaspoon of pepper and 1 tablespoon of olive oil.

Creamer potatoes tossed with dried herbs in a large bowl.

Take the time to properly toss the potatoes with the oil and dried herbs so that they become nicely roasted.

Roasted creamer potatoes on an air fryer basket.Place the properly seasoned potatoes on the air fryer basket without overcrowding. Space them out, in a single layer. This extra step ensures they get crispy.

Turn on the heat to 400°F (200°C) and air fry for 20-23 minutes. There is no need to preheat the oven.

Depending on your model, it may be necessary to shake the potatoes at the halfway mark.

Remove from oven and serve immediately.

As an option, squeeze lemon juice over the top and garnish with chopped fresh rosemary.

Tips

  • Slice the potatoes in half lengthwise in order to obtain a larger surface area that can be roasted.
  • Coat the entire surface of the sliced potatoes with the oil and herbs by taking a minute or two to toss them properly together.
  • Space out the potatoes, in a single layer, on the basket. Do not overcrowd them. This extra step ensures they get crispy.
  • Every air fryer works a little differently. Keep an eye on them so that you can determine ideal times for your appliance. As a reference, check your user manual.
  • Roasting time is just a suggestion. Feel free to roast for a shorter or longer period based on your personal preference.

Can I use other kinds of potatoes?

Yes. Russets, yellow and red varieties yield great results. Cut them the same size so that they cook evenly.

No parboiling?

I have tested this recipe with and without the parboiling and did not find a big difference. I suggest skipping the boiling in order to simplify the whole process of making potatoes in an air fryer.

Uneven roasting

Proper air circulation is crucial to obtain crispy and evenly roasted potatoes in the air fryer. Do not overload the basket and space out the potatoes.  Depending on your model, it may be necessary to cook in batches.

What foods go well with air fryer potatoes?

These make a perfect potato side dish whether serving them for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner! One of my favorite ways to serve them is alongside sauteed spinach and baked codfish.  It’s also great when paired with glazed salmon.
